Our Oregon Coast adventure! The first stop was 2 nights in Seaside. Here's the view from our unit.  

We wandered around Seaside, visiting some of the shops. Danielle wanted to ride on the carousel. 

She picked the cat, of course. 

Here's the statue of Lewis & Clark at the turnaround in Seaside. The place we stayed is the highrise on the right. 

Carla and Danielle had a fun time on the beach. They found a bunch of sand dollars and Dani finally got her feet wet in the ocean. 

After a day in town and on the beach, Dani was pretty tired out. 

We drove down the coast on Monday, stopping just outside Cannon Beach to check out the view. 

That spot in the distance is the Tillamook Head lighthouse.  

Next stop, Tillamook. We've always wanted to stop at the Tillamook Cheese Factory and since we had the time, we decided to check it out. 

Not a very exciting tour but a nice place to stop for a rest and a bite to eat. They have a great ice cream bar. 

From Tillamook, we took the 3 Capes Loop which is a little bit of a detour but worth it on a lovely day if you're not in a hurry. We stopped at Cape Meares to visit the lighthouse and here's the lovely path we took.

This is a fun little lighthouse to visit. 

Danielle and I climbed to the top of this stubby lighthouse - what an incredible view! 

We arrived at Gleneden Beach on Monday and met Conan there. Here's the view from our unit. Shortly after we arrived we saw a whale out the window.

We spent one day in Depoe Bay, a cute little town between Gleneden Beach and Newport.

Enjoying the day at Depoe Bay. Had a great lunch at Tidal Raves which we always try to visit when we are on the coast.

We got to Depoe Bay just before high tide to check out the Spouting Horn. 

The Spouting Horn was spouting pretty good. Stand in the wrong spot and you'll get soaked. 

This is at Otter Crest where we stopped for a quick view. It was pretty windy but very nice out. You can see a picture of the Devil's Punchbowl at Conan's site.

We visited one of our favorite places to go rock hunting - Strawberry Hill, just south of Cape Perpetua. The hunting was particularly fine this year. We found a gravel bed just packed with agates. 

Danielle did a little hunting for rocks and shells and then had a fine time climbing on the rocks.
