Back home

Good to be home and glad that most of the snow was gone. What a difference from less than a week ago!

Christmas Day

Had a lovely Christmas at Claudia and Wyatt's place.

On the road

It was a very snowy drive across the state but we arrived in Walla Walla safe and sound.

Snow...snow...and MORE snow!

All those folks that were dreaming of a white Christmas got their wish...and then some! This is the backyard on the 22nd, just before we left.

Snow for my birthday!

Although I didn't order any, we got some
snow for my birthday and it's REALLY cold!

Craft show

We decided to participate in a small craft bazaar at Highland Park Elementary on the 6th. Carla sold ornaments and scarves and I sold cards, envelopes and critters (I called them Peculiar Produce). We also had ornaments and pens from Celia and scarves and dishrags from Charlot. It was a packed table.

The turnout wasn't wonderful but we did sell a few things - enough to pay for the table with some left over. But it was fun to do and we might do it again next year!

Cubicle of Horror!

We had a lot of fun at work with an empty cubicle. Chris Lopez and her kids came in one weekend and did most of the work. What a great job! Everyone really enjoyed it.

2008 Halloween Horribles

Here's a slideshow showing the current "crop"

Halloween Cubicle Decorations

We're having a cubicle decorating contest
in our department at work and I decided to go for it!

Here's my cubicle all dressed up.

I'm on a corner, so I did both sides.

I even did a little Halloween tree
which looks better in person - really.

The large crow I put up really freaks some people out.

I even got a postcard in the mail that says
"Hey, That black bird has to go. It's freaking me out.
I'm having trouble gathering my nuts.
Signed, Squirrel"

Rainbow

I took this photo in our back yard in August.
The rainbow stayed for a long time
(didn't find the pot of gold, though).

Kitty update

Even though we miss Coco, our kitties are
VERY glad to have the house back to themselves.

Goodbye Coco

We took Coco into PAWS on Sunday. I'd grown so attached to her that is was really hard to say goodbye, but we know it will be better for her to have a home where she's the only cat and can be free to be the diva she is.

Gigi approves....

...of Mom and Dad's old chair that we brought back with us.
The arm just fits her chin and it quickly became her new favorite spot.

4th of July Weekend in Walla Walla

We drove over to Walla Walla to help Mom and Dad
move to their new place. It was really hot and a lot of
work but we got most of it done and everybody pitched in,
especially the girls: Danielle, Cora Jo and Emma.

On the 4th we celebrated at Claudia and Wyatt's with
some great food and good company.

After a glorious sunset, we set off some fireworks, then
watched all the other fireworks in the area. Great fun!

It's HOT...but the garden is beautiful.

It was a very hot weekend here - just takes all the energy right out of you. But the sun and the heat finally made the last of the peonies bloom and they are beauties!

New visitors (dagnabbit)

We are having a raccoon problem. Of course, the only way to get rid of them is to stop putting food out, but we just can't starve the outside cats, so feel kind of stuck.

These are two of the newest visitors...babies belonging to one of the 3 adult raccoons. Turn on your sound and you can hear them trilling. If only they weren't so darned cute!

Saying "goodbye" to the boys

We took Chubby and Stubby to PAWS on Sunday. Before we even got in the door, we met a couple who had just lost their 18-year-old cat and were ready for a new one. They took one look at the boys and said they wanted to adopt them. When we finished up the paperwork, they were filling out their adoption forms so they could be first in line. That made us feel much better.

The house is so quiet and calm without them and it was very hard to give them up but we feel sure they will find a good home with good people. We are grateful we got to enjoy them and so we will do as Mom always tells us and bless them and send them on their way.

Happy Father's Day

I bet when this picture was taken that you never thought you would end up with six, did you? Here's to you, Dad!

Stubbilicious

He's much more laid back and timid than his brother. But he is more photogenic.

The Chubster

He's the more dominant and mischievous.

Excellent...

He likes to help me with my journal.

And when I'm on the computer.

In bloom

Spring finally arrived!
